The heraldic description of the coat of arms reads as follows: “ In a scarlet (red) field under a silver raised narrow toothed rafter inscribed at the top, four golden maple leaves connected by cuttings, folded into a straight cross, with pair of golden catkins folded and diverging to the sides, extending between the leaves in an oblique cross, cuttings which are threaded under the leaves and closed with the completion of the cuttings of the leaves . "
Justification of Symbols
The name of the village comes from the word "guests" - merchants, visiting people - and is often found in Novgorod scribal books of the 16th century. Once this ancient settlement, which in Novgorod was part of the Dyatlitsky Pogost, was located on the banks of a deep and navigable river. Its channel passed along the bottom of the current ravine. Visiting merchants - “guests” arrived here along this water trade route, trade was briskly going on in the village.
After the end of the Northern War and the liberation of the region from the Swedes, Peter I presented the Gostilitsa manor to one of his close associates - Burkhard Christopher Minich .
Minich was not only a field marshal, but, first of all, a talented engineer. Minich supervised the construction of the Ladoga canals, erected docks in Kronstadt , was "the chief director of the fortifications." Minih supervised the construction of the Bypass Canal in St. Petersburg, a lock on the Tosna River, and the Petersburg – Shlisselburg road. Since 1724, on the personal instructions of Emperor Peter the Great, Minikh led the construction of the Ladoga Canal .
A reminder of Minikh as a well-known fortification engineer on the flag of the Gostilitsky rural settlement is a white-toothed rafter. This symbol also reminds of the Comic Fortress located nearby.
Two natural monuments located on the territory of the Gostilitsky rural settlement are included in the Red Book of Nature of the Leningrad Region.
