Biography
Born in Petrograd . In January 1942 he graduated from the Hydrographic Institute of the Glavsevmorput, where he studied since 1937. Candidate of Geographical Sciences.
In the position of Hydrograph-navigator and second assistant captain in 1942-1945. sailed on vessels of the Ice Patrol, which provided hydrometeorological and ice information combat and transport operations on the tress of the Northern Sea Route .
In the navigation of 1942, as part of the crew of the Murmanets hydrographic vessel (Ice Patrol-18), he participated in the rescue of 147 sailors from the sunken ships of the Allied convoy PQ-17 . In 2005, he received a written thank-you note from the US Military and Naval Departments for participating in this operation.
In 1946-1985 taught at VAMU ( LVIMU named after Admiral S. O. Makarov).
In 1958-1982 participated in expeditions in the Arctic seas and the Atlantic Ocean .
Member of World War II . He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 11 medals and badges "Honorary Worker of the Navy", "Honorary Polar Explorer", "Veteran of Polar Hydrography".
