Biography
He started playing handball in 1972. He played for the clubs "Partizan" (Nashitsa) and " Partizan " (Bjelovar).
As part of the Yugoslav national team spent 140 matches. At the summer Olympics in Moscow (1980) was the sixth, having spent all six meetings and scoring 33 goals. Four years later, in Los Angeles, together with the Yugoslav team won gold medals. Among other achievements:
- 1982 - silver medal at the World Championships in Dortmund,
- 1979 - Gold Medal of the Mediterranean Games in Split,
- 1983 - Gold Medal of the Mediterranean Games in Casablanca
- 1977 - the gold medal of the Uiversadiad in Poland,
- 1977, 1979 - champion of Yugoslavia,
- 1976 - winner of the Cup of Yugoslavia.
Three times recognized as the best Croatian handball player (1979, 1980 and 1982), Bielovar's best athlete - 1980, 1982 and 1984.
