Biography
Zenta Erglė was born on December 23, 1920 in Riga .
She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Latvian State University (1949). She worked as an engineer-architect at the Zemproekt Riga Design Institute (1949-1975).
Began to be published since 1954. The author of three dozen adventure and popular science books for children, mostly translated into fifteen languages, the total circulation of which reached two million copies.
In 1960, on the stage of the State Theater of the Young Spectator of the Latvian SSR , a staging of the story by Zenta Erglė “The Guys of Our Yard” was performed.
In 2010, the commemorative exhibition “Pāri gadiem cauri dzīvei” was organized within the walls of the Academic Library of the University of Latvia , dedicated to the work of the writer [2] .
She was a member of the Latvian Union of Architects (1951) and a member of the Latvian Writers' Union (1959) [3] .
