History
Kryuchkovo station of the Nikolaev railway was opened in 1860. The name of the station is given in the neighboring village of Kryuchkovo, Prudovskoy volost, Novotorzhye district . Its founder, the first boss was Joachim (Akim) Aleksandrovich Fedorov, who served at the station from 1860 to 1920. for 60 years (he died at the age of 104 in 1927). I.A. Fedorov was in kinship with Father Mitrofan ( Sergius of Srebryansky ), now reckoned as a saint.
In 1929-30, the development of the Osinovaya Gryad peat deposit began, from which a narrow gauge railway was built to the Kryuchkovo station. There was an overload of peat on a broad gauge. The village at the station arose in 1929. In 1930 in Kryuchkovo and the neighboring village of Porshinets organized a large flax-growing state farm named after Williams, transformed in 1966 into a pilot production facility of the Northern Research Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Land Reclamation. In 1989, the farm was transformed into the Kryuchkovsky state farm. The village is electrified, gasified; built residential buildings of urban type. The first elementary school was opened in 1930, in 1977 a new school was built - an eight-year-old. In 1975, the educational building and hostel SPTU-29 was put into operation to train land reclamators, rural machine operators, excavators, car drivers, machine milking operators.
In 1997, there were 445 households in the village, 1,075 residents; administration of the rural district, school, feldsher-midwife station, bathhouse (it is reported on the Kryuchkovo administration’s site that the bathhouse is not working), shops.
