History

The Catholic movement Mission de France was created in 1941 by the French cardinal Emmanuel-Celestine Seward . This Catholic movement was joined by Catholic priests and laity who wanted to preach Catholicism among unbelieving Frenchmen.

On August 15, 1954, Pope Pius XII issued the bull Omnium ecclesiarum , which gave the Catholic movement Mission de France the status of a church administrative structure called " Territorial Prelature Mission France ."

Since 1996, the Office of Territorial Prelature of the Mission of France has been entrusted to the Archbishops of Sansa .
