Ansible ( English Ansible , also transliterated as ansible ) is a fictional device mentioned in the works of the American science fiction writer Ursula Le Guin .
Ansible is an instant communication device between objects located at astronomical distances from each other. The use of the ensemble is an important plot point in the novels “The Planet of Rokannon” and “There is One Word for the Forest and the World” . All ships of the IV century according to the calendar of the Union of all planets, including unmanned superlight bomber ships, are equipped with ensembles. Message transmission is possible at a specially set point, adjustable on a scale in the galactic coordinate system. In further works, in particular, “The Left Hand of Darkness, ” the writer continues to use this apparatus.
Also, this unit was mentioned in the science fiction novels of Orson Scott Card . In particular, in the game Ender’s novel , the main character, Andrew (Ender) Wiggin, gave commands to the space fleet with the help of the ensemble.
