The Turin Basin occupies part of the valleys of the Ilya and Tura rivers, as well as the basin of Lake Balzinsky . The hollow begins 5 km south of the village of Krasnoyarovo and stretches 25 km to the north-north-east, to the vicinity of the village of Kalanga . The maximum width reaches 10 km (in the central part).
Geology
The Turin Basin is filled with sedimentary formations of the Lower Cretaceous (with the manifestation of brown coals ), which are overlain from above by Cenozoic continental sediments of relatively small thickness. The foundation of the cavity belongs to the Mesozoic ; further formation went to Neogene - Quaternary .
In the most elevated section, the bottom of the depression has absolute elevations of 825 m; to the north and south they drop to 805 m (or less). The main types of landscape are meadow plains and forest-steppes , passing up the slopes into the mountain taiga .
