The Urulyungu Depress is the common name for two depressions (West-Urulyungui and East-Urulyungui), located mainly in the Trans-Baikal Territory of Russia .

Location
The West-Urulyungui depression is located between the Nerchinsky and Klichkinsky ranges , the East-Urulyunguysky between the Klitskinsky and Argunsky ranges . The depressions are isolated from each other. Their total length exceeds 210 km, while the width varies from 2-3 to 20 km (or more).
The West-Urulyungu basin stretches from the upper course of the Urulyungui River in the south-west to the Russian-Chinese border (with continuation in China). The length of the depression is 140 km, the average width is 20-22 km.
The East Urulyungu Depression begins in Sukhaya Urulyungui Pad (near Krasnokamensk ) and extends first to the northeast (to the outskirts of the village of Dosatui ), then eastward (to the confluence with the Argun depression ). The length of the depression is about 100 km with an average width of 15-17 km.
Geology
Geologically, the Urulyungu depressions represent a single Cenozoic morphostructure, united by the Urulyungui valley . Both depressions have the characteristic features of depressions of both the Transbaikalian and Gobi types. They are the protagues containing sedimentary , granitoid and basaltoid formations with manifestations of brown coal , zeolites and phosphorites . The age of the Upper Jurassic – Lower Cretaceous formations, from above, they are covered with Cenozoic continental deposits of small thickness.
The absolute bottom marks at the West-Urulyungui depression range from 600 to 700 m, and for the East-Urulyungui depression - from 510 to 620 m. The boards of the depressions are mainly articulated with the surrounding positive morphostructures. The main types of landscape are steppes , riverside meadows , salt marshes , lakes .
