  • 1946-1949 - Director of the Leninsky Forge factory ( Kiev ).
  • 1949-1950 - Director of the Krasnoye Sormovo Plant ( Gorky ).
  • 1950-1954 - Director of the Kirov Plant (Leningrad).
  • 1954 - June 17, 1962 - Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council [1] .
  • February 25, 1956 - June 17, 1962 - candidate for membership in the Central Committee of the CPSU. Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 4, 5, 6 convocations.

He died on June 17, 1962 in Leningrad in a car accident. He was buried on the Literary bridges of the Volkovsky cemetery [2] [3] .

In 1962-1991, the name of N. I. Smirnov was Lanskoye Shosse in the Zhdanovsky district of Leningrad.
