Sophia Marinova (full name is Sophia Marinova Kamenova ( Bulgarian: Sofia Marinova Kamenova ), born December 5, 1975 ) is a Bulgarian singer of gypsy descent, a representative of Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 .

Biography
Sophie was born on December 5, 1975 in Sofia , although her family then lived near Etropole and she taught in the eighth grade in the village of Kamena. She began to sing and dance from an early age. In the tenth grade, when she studied in Etropole, musicians from the local orchestra, impressed by her voice, ask her parents to let her become a singer. Her father was opposed to this decision, as she remained a little longer to graduate from school, but her mother, who had stopped playing music after she married him, managed to convince him to agree. At the age of 17, Sophie with her orchestra won, won at the festival in the style of a romance chorus with the song “ Look, they cry a lot ( Russian. My eyes cry a lot )” in Osikovitsa . Then they won the first festival in Stara Zagora - with the hit Stari Rani ( Russian Old Wounds ) and My Slunchy ( Russian My Sun ). After the festival, she signed a contract with Ara Music , led by Nencho Kasamov, who finds her in the restaurant of Guerin , where she performed with the Super Express group. So Sophie released the debut album Stari Rani ( Rus. Old Wounds ) with the group Super Express , which, according to critics, was the best-selling album in the country in 1997. In 1998, Sophie released her solo album, Sole Mine ( Rus. My Sole ), and then a year later released another album Moyat Sin ( Rus. My Dream ). Sophie is back in the group to sing 4 songs for her new album, but she finally leaves the group. In the album titled Songs from Srece ( Rus. Songs from the Heart ). Sophie has launched three solo albums Studen Plamak ( Russian: Cold Fire ), Tender Nothing ( Russian Tender Night ) and Love Has Been Osad ( Russian Doomed Love ). Sophie Marinova received the award as, "Singer of the Year" according to New Folk magazine. Among the awards she received were: a prize for her contribution to folk music, first place in the Golden Mustang in 1999 with the song Run the Rings ( Russian. Extend your hands )
Personal life
Sophie has a son, Lorenzo. In 2016, she announced that she had a new lover, Theodore Davidov, better known under the pseudonym Gringo, who is 11 years younger than her [2] .
Eurovision 2012
She was chosen to represent her country at Eurovision 2012 . She shared the 10th place with the representative of Norway, however, according to additional criteria, she did not qualify for the finals.
