Gimzo ( Hebrew גמזו ) is a religious moshav located in central Israel , between the cities of Lod and Modiin . Administratively refers to the regional council of Hevel Modiin [1] .

History
Moshav was founded on February 28, 1950 by repatriates from Hungary [2] . In 1951, the Israeli government relocated several groups of Moroccan immigrants to moshav to increase the moshav population. In 1977, a group of 12 young agricultural families joined the moshav.
Mostly moshav consists of ultra-orthodox and orthodox Jewish residents who observe a religious-Zionist lifestyle. The moshavah is home to the spiritual leader of the community, as well as the entire regional council, Hevel Modiin, Rabbi Meir Eliav.

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics of Israel , the population at the beginning of 2018 was 1 201 people [3] .
