Hafei Zhongyi

The company was founded in 1994 as a division of the China National Aircraft Corporation with foreign investment in the amount of $ 550 million. The first car to go off the assembly line of the company was the licensed South Korean subcompact Daewoo Tico , its total circulation over the entire production period, amounted to about 300 thousand copies. In 1996, the company entered into a partnership agreement with the famous Italian design studio Pininfarina [1] , the result of joint work was presented at the Beijing Motor Show in 1999, the Hafei Zhongyi minivan . A few years later, in 2003, Hafei was recognized as the fastest growing automobile company in China [2] .

In 2006, the company was transformed into the Hafei Motor manufacturing association, which included the HF Harbin Automobile Plant, Dongan Engine Plant, subsidiary electromechanical factories in Shenzhen and Weihai , as well as about a dozen related workshops. And a few years later, in 2008, the company released its two millionth car [3] .

In 2012, Hafei, together with Coda Automotive , plans to release its first electric car [1] .
