45th separate ski battalion

The battalion was formed in November 1941 in Sverdlovsk ^[1] . During the formation, the battalion totaled 560 people in three companies.

In the army from January 1, 1942 to March 14, 1942.

In December 1942 he was sent to the Volkhov Front , entered the disposal of the 59th Army. He took part in the Luban operation .

At the beginning of the operation of 1942, he was part of the army; from January 13, 1942, he was advancing through the Volkhov, but without success.

On January 25, 1942, he was transferred to the 2nd shock army and introduced into the breakthrough that was created by the troops of the 2nd shock army at Myasniy Bor , advancing along with the 87th cavalry division advancing on Lyuban , on January 30, 1942 he took part in liberation of the villages of Krivino and Novaya, in the middle of February 1942 he went to the village of Krasnaya Gorka 15 kilometers from Lyuban and is fighting there. By February 28, 1942, only 17 people remained in the battalion.

On March 14, 1942 the battalion was disbanded, the rest of the battalion was sent to one of the rifle brigades of the 2nd shock army.
