On October 12, 1916, together with a group of like-minded people, he created the football club " America ", naming it in honor of the holiday celebrated on that day . Being one of the main players of the club, Rafael played in it until 1930, and from 1925 to 1928. four times won in its composition the championship of Mexico.

Team

Raphael's debut for the national team took place in a series of three friendly games with Guatemala on the opponent’s field in January 1923. In December of that year, the series was continued with three matches in Mexico City .

The year 1928 was marked by the participation of Mexicans in the Olympic tournament in Amsterdam . After two defeats, the Mexican national team stopped participating in this tournament.
