Something New is a studio album by The Beatles , an English rock band, published in 1964 , the third of the albums released by Capitol Records , all from American editions, the fifth following the label United Artists (in the American version ) the album A Hard Day's Night . This album includes eight songs from the original British edition of A Hard Day's Night , as well as " Slow Down " and " Matchbox " from the mini-album (EP) Long Tall Sally ; another version of the song was “ I Want to Hold Your Hand ”, sung in German (called “Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand”). The album was released in mono and stereo versions; on the stereo version, all the mono-mixes of the five songs from the album released by United Artists were repeated. The mono edition contains alternative versions of the songs “ Any Time at All ” (another balance of instruments in the instrumental “bridge”), “ I'll Cry Instead ” (“missing” third verse), “ When I Get Home ” (the string “Till I walk out that door again "in the" bridge "is sung with a different vocal passage than in the British mono mix) and" And I Love Her "(here McCartney's vocals are recorded once, and on the" double "as in the British mono album) (McCartney's non-double-tracked vocal).

The album lasted nine weeks in 2nd place on the Billboard 200 chart, second only to the album of the same name, released by United Artists [2] .
This album was also released by Parlophone for sale only on US military bases in Europe. Copies from this edition are of noticeable value to collectors. The album was also released in Germany by the label Odeon . In the German edition there is a “pseudo-stereo” ( reprocessed stereo ) version of the song “ Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand ” and an extended (extended) version of “And I Love Her”, where the final riff is played not four times, but six. This mix was later released on the US version of the album Rarities [3] .
