Biography
Gilarius lived in the 4th century. In 358 he was appointed bishop of Toulouse. Gilarius discovered the relics of St. Saturninus and built a small chapel in his honor.
He died in 360. Saint Sylvius became his successor in the department of Toulouse.
Praise
Gilarius was revered as a saint from the beginning of the fifth century.
The relics of St. Gilarius were transferred to the Basilica of St. Saturninus in 1265, where they are currently stored.
