History

The decision to build a power station necessary to provide electric energy to enterprises of the Irkutsk-Cheremkhov industrial zone was adopted by the USSR Council of Ministers in March 1954. The design of the cogeneration plant was carried out by the Leningrad branch of the Teploenergoproekt Institute [1] .

The first power unit of the station was put into commercial operation in September 1959, the last, eighth in a row - in 1962 [2] . The construction of a thermal power plant was associated with the development of industry in the region and with an increase in the demand for thermal and electric energy. In total, 7 units with a capacity of 150 MW of KhTGZ production and one with a capacity of 60 MW of LMZ production were installed at the station during this period [3] .

In Soviet times, CHPP-10 was considered one of the most advanced stations in the country [4] . For the first time in the power industry of the USSR, the project laid the principle of the block layout of the station with once-through boilers , which increased the reliability of the station [1] .

General information

CHPP-10 operates as part of the Irkutsk energy system, which is part of the unified energy system of Siberia . The installed electric capacity of CHPP-10 is 1110 MW (8% of the total capacity of regional power plants and 28% of the capacity of Irkutskenergo TPPs), this is the largest TPP of the Irkutsk power system. Electricity generation in 2014 was 2281.7 million kWh , the installed capacity utilization factor was only 23% [5] .

CHPP-10 is one of the main sources of heat energy from the district heating system of the city of Angarsk, as well as the village of Meget . Irkutsk TPP-9 also operates in the city’s heat supply system. Installed heat capacity - 453 Gcal / h (according to other sources - 563 Gcal / h [2] ). The system of hot heat supply - with open water. The main large industrial consumers of thermal energy in the city are the Angarsk Electrolysis Chemical Combine , the Angarsk Petrochemical Company , and the Angarsk Polymer Plant [5] .

The main equipment of TPP-10 [3] :

  • PT-60-90 / 13 cogeneration turbine unit with a capacity of 60 MW, commissioned in 1959;
  • seven condensation turbine units K-150-130 with a unit capacity of 150 MW, commissioned in 1960-1962.
  • two coal-fired boilers TP-10 with a single steam capacity of 220 t / h;
  • 14 coal-fired boilers PK-24 with a single steam capacity of 270 t / h.

The main fuel is coal delivered by trains and stored in a coal warehouse on the territory of the thermal power plant. Water intake from the Angara River .
