William Chetcuti ( born William Chetcuti , born January 7, 1985 ) is a Maltese shooter , participant in two summer Olympic games, an ex-world record holder in the junior double ladder.

Biography
Internationally, William Cetcuti began performing since 2001. At the junior level, Chetkuti had many successes, the most significant of which is the victory at the 2002 European Championship among juniors . In addition to the victory, William also set a world record among juniors in a double ladder.
In 2004, Chetkuti made his debut at the Summer Olympics . At the opening of the games, William was entrusted with the right to fly the flag of Malta. In the qualification of competitions in the double-trap discipline, William scored 134 points and shared 6th place with another 4 athletes. But since only 6 people had to go to the finals, Chetkuti had to participate in the shootout. Having missed already in the second shot, William could not reach the final, remaining in 9th place.
In 2008, in Beijing, Chetkuti again took part in the double trap at the Summer Olympics . In qualifying, William scored 136 points and again, like 4 years ago, shared 6th place and was forced to participate in a shootout for the right to get into the final. Having missed the 4th shot, Chetkuti dropped out of the competition, taking 8th place.
In 2011, at the World Championships, William achieved the highest result of his career. For the first time, Chetcuti managed to reach the final of the world championship. In the final, William could not show a better result and took 5th place. In April 2011, at the 4th stage of the Shooting World Cup, William finished second in the double ladder and won an Olympic license for Malta to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London .
