Cineraria

Cineraria , ustara. Ashpit [2] ( lat. Cinerária ), is a genus of plants of the family Asteraceae ( Asteraceae ), close to the genus Krestovnik . Some plant species used in ornamental horticulture and called cinerarias, according to the modern classification, belong to the genus Trinity.

Botanical description

Herbs and dwarf shrubs with small inflorescences - basket, gathered in shields.

Distribution and habitat

Distributed on the island of Madagascar and in tropical Africa [3] .

More than 60 species of this genus have the status of unresolved name in The Plant List (2013), that is, it is impossible to say for these names whether they should be used as names of independent species - or they should be reduced to synonyms of other taxa [4] .
