History
Formed in the autumn of 1941 in the Arkhangelsk Military District ( Kirillov ) as part of the 2nd combat engineer brigade , until January 1942 he was engaged in the construction of rear defensive lines at the border of the cities of Vytegra , Cherepovets , Poshekhonovo [1]
As part of the army, the first formation from February 1, 1942 to July 27, 1942, the second formation from July 27, 1942 to October 3, 1942.
In January 1942 he was sent to the Volkhov Front , where until June 1942 he was at the disposal of the 2nd shock army , ensuring the construction of its fortifications and communications. It was almost completely destroyed in the encirclement of the 2nd shock army and was disbanded on July 27, 1942, but was formed again on the same day as part of the army, thus formally existed in the form of two formations.
The second formation of the battalion on October 3, 1942 was reorganized into the 270th separate engineering battalion .
