History

It is marked on the map of Ingermanland by A. I. Bergenheim , compiled according to the materials of 1676, as the village of Doroskowa [2] .

On the Swedish "General Map of the Province of Ingermanland ", 1704 is also referred to as Doroskowa [3] .

As the village of Dorosva, it is indicated on the “Geographical drawing of Izhora land” by Adrian Schonbeck in 1705 [4] .

According to the 8th revision of 1833, Tarasovo Manor with the villages belonged to the wife of the Privy Councilor E. Ya. Ikskul [5] .

The village of Torosova , consisting of 25 peasant households , is mentioned on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834 [6] .

TOROSOVO - the village belongs to the secret counselor Baroness Ikskul, the number of inhabitants according to the audit: 71 m. p. (1838) [7]

On the map of F. F. Schubert of 1844 and S. S. Kutorgi of 1852, the village of Torosova , consisting of 33 yards [8] [9] , is indicated.

On the ethnographic map of the St. Petersburg province of P. I. Köppen in 1849, it is mentioned as the village of “Torossowa”, inhabited by Ingermanlanders - Savakots [10] .

In the explanatory text of the ethnographic map, it is recorded as the village of Torossowa ( Doroschowa, Torosovo ) and the number of its inhabitants for 1848 is indicated: 59 m., 68 w. n., a total of 127 people [11] .

TOROSOVO - village bar. Wrangel, along a country road, the number of yards is 22, the number of souls is 56 m. (1856) [12]

According to the 10th revision of 1856, the manor and the village of Torosovo of the Gubanitsky volost of Peterhof district belonged to the state adviser Yegor Yermolaevich Wrangel [13] .

TORAGOVO - a village and manor owned by wells and ponds, the number of yards - 22, the number of inhabitants: 58 m., 52 w. p. [14] (1862)

In the 1870s, on the outskirts of the village of Torosovo, Lieutenant General Baron Mikhail Egorovich Wrangel built a mansion in the style of English Gothic , which is now a ruin [15] .

In 1881, temporarily liable peasants of the village bought their land allotments from Baron M. G. Wrangel and became the owners of the land [16] .

In 1885, the village of Torosova numbered 34 peasant households and a forge. Adjacent to the village was the Wrangel Manor.

According to the statistics on the national economy of the Peterhof district of 1887, the Torosovo and Gorki manors with a total area of ​​2077 acres belonged to Baron A.E. Wrangel ; they were acquired until 1868. Worked a forge, brick and lime plants [17] .

In the 19th century, the village administratively belonged to the Gubanitsky volost of the 1st camp of the Peterhof district of the St. Petersburg province, at the beginning of the 20th century - of the 2nd camp.

According to the "Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province" for 1905, the Torosovo and Gorki manors with a total area of ​​2076 acres belonged to Baron Mikhail Egorovich Wrangel [18] .

By 1913, the number of yards in the village of Torosovo decreased to 29 [19] .

After the October Revolution , a library and a village club were located on the estate. A meat and dairy state farm was organized in the village.

From 1917 to 1922, the village of Torosovo was part of the Torosovsky village council of the Gubanitsky volost of Peterhof district .

Since 1922, as part of the Gubanitsky Village Council.

Since 1923, as part of the Gatchina district .

Since February 1924, as part of the Vengissarovsky volost.

Since August 1927, as part of the Volosovsky district.

In 1928, the population of the village of Torosovo was 232 people [20] .

According to the topographic map of 1931, the village numbered 67 yards, the Torosovo state farm and the Krasnaya Roscha collective farm were organized in the village.

According to administrative data of 1933, the village of Torosovo was part of the Gubanitsky village council of the Volosovsky district [21] .

From August 1, 1941 to December 31, 1943 the village was under occupation. During the Second World War, in the vicinity of the village was the airfield of the 202nd air regiment .

Since 1963, in the Kingisepp district .

Since 1965, again as part of the Volosovsky district. In 1965, the population of the village of Torosovo was 565 people [20] .

According to the data of 1966, 1973 and 1990, the village of Torosovo was also part of the Gubanitsky village council. The village was the central estate of the farm "Torosovo" [22] [23] [24] .

In 1997, 1529 people lived in the village, in 2002 - 1402 people (Russian - 90%), in 2007 - 1440 [25] [26] [27] .

Geography

The village is located in the northeastern part of the district on the highway 41K-013 ( Zhabino -Verest) at the junction of the highway 41K-353 (Torosovo- Kurgolovo ).

The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 3 km [27] .

The distance to the nearest railway station Volosovo is 9 km [22] .
