Biography
Born on January 1, 1961 in Leningrad. She studied at the school at the Academy of Arts [1] . She graduated from the philological faculty of Leningrad State University [2] with a degree in classical philology. Later she studied at the graduate school of the Institute of Balkan Studies .
In 1989 she moved to Moscow , where, being published in Nezavisimaya Gazeta , she gained fame as a literary critic and culturologist . At the same time, being published in a number of entertainment media, she became known as a “ socialite ”. She collaborated with such journalists as Dmitry Prigov , Joseph Diskin and Igor Yarkevich . In 1994-1995, he was a columnist at Kommersant , and a presenter on Radio Liberty .
In 1996, Svetlana Konegen, along with Irina Khakamada , was the head of the Women's Liberal Fund . In 2007, Konegen joined the Russian Ecological Party Green , where she won second place in the list of elections to the State Duma . For political reasons, Konegen advocates for the equal rights of women and men , as well as for the protection of the rights of religious, national and sexual minorities .
Since June 2015, he has again collaborated with Radio Liberty as an interviewer on their official website.
Television
Since 1996, Konegen has been working on television. At different times, she was the host of the television programs “Sweet Life” ( NTV , 1996-1997) [3] , “The State of Things” ( “Culture” , 1998-2000) [4] [5] , “Night Rendezvous”, “Soap” ( TVC , 1999-2000) [6] [7] , “Delicacies” (TVC, 2000-2006) [8] , as well as the talk show “The Complaint Book” (TVC, 2004) [9] . By that time, thanks to the unusual style and manners, Konegen was firmly entrenched in the image of an eccentric person: at different times, the media called her “Miss Scandal”, “Miss Unisex”, “Miss Intellectual Outrage”, “Miss Swagger” and others. Unusual timbre of her voices repeatedly became the object of parodies of various comedians.
