The Day of the Polish Underground State ( Polish. Dzień Podziemnego Państwa Polskiego ) is a Polish national holiday, established in memory of the Polish Underground State that operated during the German occupation of World War II. Celebrated annually on September 27 since 1998. Holiday is a working day.

The holiday was established in honor of the Polish underground state - the only legitimate Polish national state education that existed during the German occupation from 1939-1945.
History
On September 27, 1939 in the Warsaw occupied by the fascist troops, the highest officers of the Polish Army created the organization Victory for Poland , which became the first militarized underground organization of Polish resistance to the invaders.
On September 11, 1998, the Polish Sejm , referring to the creation on September 27, 1939 of the organization Victory Services of Poland, established a new national holiday in honor of the Polish underground state.
The statute of the holiday says:
"This historic event marked the beginning of the construction of the Polish underground state, which is a phenomenon not only of World War II."
