OK-ML1

OK-ML1, Product 0.04 ( 4M, 11F35 ML1 ) - a full-scale mock-up of the Buran orbiter, used for overall and weight fitting tests. It was delivered to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in December 1983 .

After the cessation of work, the prototype was located at the Baikonur Cosmodrome , in an open area for fire tests near the assembly and testing building (platform No. 254). In January 2007 , after looting , OK-ML1 was transported to an open area No. 2 using a transport unit and placed in a guarded parking lot next to the Cosmodrome Museum. The model was given the appearance of a “Buran” flying into space [1] .

Tasks

The layout was used for [2] :

  • fitting technological equipment as part of a launch vehicle (LV) at a technical position;
  • integrated testing technology preparation for flight tests;
  • integrated development of prelaunch technology at the launch complex.
