Akimova, Tatyana Mikhailovna

Tatyana Mikhailova Akimova ( December 25, 1898 , Saratov - April 18, 1987 , Penza ) - Soviet folklorist , literary critic , ethnographer , local historian , doctor of philological sciences ( 1966 ), professor ( 1966 ) SSU im. N. G. Chernyshevsky . In 1981 , she created and then led the folklore cabinet laboratory (in 1987, by the decision of the Academic Council of the Philological Faculty of SSU named after N.G. Chernyshevsky , the laboratory cabinet was named after Professor T.M. Akimova). From 1920 to 1940 worked in the Saratov State Regional Museum of Local Lore : head of the Chuvash department of the Ethnographic Museum of the Saratov Territory, researcher at the Hunger Museum, head of the department of the museum of local history. Over the years, she taught at the Saratov Pedagogical Institute, the Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of educators and lectured in the Saratov branch of the Knowledge Society .

Biography

She received her primary education in the family, then she entered and graduated from the First Women's Gymnasium of Saratov with a gold medal . In 1918 she entered the University of Saratov at the Slavic-Russian branch of the Faculty of History and Philology. Her teachers during her studies at the university were B. M. Sokolov , V. M. Zhirmunsky , S. L. Frank , N. K. Piksanov , N. N. Durnovo , P. G. Lyubomirov , A. P. Skaftymov and The University graduated in 1924 .

 
In the folk expedition of the early 1920s

As the closest student, Tatyana Mikhailovna Akimova, became a colleague of B. M. Sokolov at work in the museum and in folklore expeditions. She entered science in 1922 as the author of a series of ethnographic works on the Saratov Chuvash and the historical past of Saratov .

Studies by T.M. Akimova on the evolution of women's costume, embroidery, headgear, and the cult of the Chuvash god Iriha still remain in demand (reprinted) and are highly appreciated by scientists of the Chuvash Republic of Russia . The pedagogical activity of Tatyana Mikhailovna begins in 1938 within the walls of the first Saratov Pedagogical Institute, and then the University of Saratov . In 1943, T.M. Akimova wrote and defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic “The People’s Drama about the War of 1812 , its Sources and Importance in the History of the Study of People’s Drama ” in the Academic Council of the University of Leningrad evacuated to Saratov . In the dissertation research, the unique Saratov text of the comedy “How the Frenchman took Moscow ” was subjected to detailed study (description). This work made it possible to bring into the scientific circulation previously unknown pages in the history of the soldier's theater. In 1964 she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic "Russian deleted songs in oral life and fiction of the late XVIII - first half of the XIX century" at the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the USSR Academy of Sciences . In 1966 , she was approved as a doctor of philological sciences and in the same year she became a professor . In 1986, she donated her personal library as a gift to the Zone Scientific Library of the University of Saratov .

The scope of scientific interests of T. M. Akimova included:

  • Problems of philological education.

Over the years, Tatyana Mikhailovna Akimova gave lecture courses on oral folklore, Russian folklore, the history of ancient Russian literature, literary studies of local lore, the history of children's literature, special courses on literary song, on the lyric song in the folk repertoire, on the South Slavic epic, etc. Under her leadership At the Faculty of Philology, a special seminar "Oral Folk Art", a literary postgraduate seminar and a folklore study group worked.

Akimova T. M. - author of a number of scientific papers. The research work of T. M. Akimova went in parallel with the expeditionary-gathering. Based on the materials collected in folklore expeditions, Tatyana Mikhailovna prepared collections that became classics of folklore science. She was a member of the editorial board (co-editor) of the inter-university scientific collection " Folklore of the Peoples of the RSFSR / Russia " ( 1974 - 1986 ). T. M. Akimova was published in authoritative publications of the USSR Academy of Sciences . From her pen, co-authored with V. A. Bakhtina and V. K. Arkhangelskaya, came out a book recommended for the country's universities, “Russian Folk Poetic Creativity” ( Moscow : Higher School , 1983 ). She prepared two seminaries: “ Pushkin and Folklore ” (published in 2000 ) and “Seminar on Folk Poetry” ( Saratov , 1957 ) [1] . Tatyana Mikhailovna’s monographic works have become classics of folklore science and, at present, are in active educational and research work not only in Russia but also abroad. A number of studies by T.M. Akimova became integral parts of the electronic collections of universities in Europe and the USA. This is, first of all, “On the Poetic Nature of the Folk Lyric Song” ( Saratov , 1966 ), “Essays on the History of Russian Folk Lyric Songs” ( Saratov , 1977 ) and “Russian Folk Lyric Song: Essays on the History of Genres” ( Saratov , 1987 ). Together with V.K. Arkhangelskaya published: “Revolutionary song in the Saratov Volga: essays on historical development” ( Saratov , 1967 ), “Songs, tales, ditties of the Saratov Volga” ( Saratov , 1969 ). The work “On the genre nature of Russian deleted songs” was highly appreciated by colleagues and was included in the academic publication “Russian Folklore: Materials and Research” ( M .; L. , 1960. P. 183-199) [2] . An important place in the creative heritage of T. M. Akimova belongs to works that comprehend the interaction of literature with oral folk poetry. This direction was reflected in a number of articles published in various publications and collected in the collection of articles “On the Folklore of Russian Writers” ( Saratov , 2001 ) [3] .

Cultural and educational activities

Tatyana Mikhailovna Akimova always willingly gave lectures and talks in Saratov schools, libraries, museums. She was an active participant, scientific consultant and co-organizer of scientific conferences and other events dedicated to local history, folklore and ethnography of the Saratov State Regional Museum of Local History and its branch - the Museum of Ethnography.

Scientist Library

Tatyana Mikhailovna gathered her personal library for many years. In 1986, she transferred it to the fund of the Zone Scientific Library of the University of Saratov . Currently, the collections of T. M. Akimova as part of the ZNB SSU fund have been assigned the status of “FEDERAL” among collections of book monuments of the Russian Federation .
