Biography
Figure skating began in 1964 in DSO "Lokomotiv" (Moscow), then - "Burevestnik" (Moscow), "Dynamo" (Moscow).
At the 1979 World Championships, the short program was one of three skaters who performed the rare double- flip -triple toe loop cascade , which made it possible to take a high 6th place in this form. At the 1980 Olympics, in a free program, he performed six triple jumps (only Scott Hamilton made the same triple among all participants), but due to the low speed and lack of cascades, the judges rated the performance rather modestly, with assessments of 5.2-5.6, and the only 5,6 put Soviet judge Tatyana Danilenko .
