The monument was implemented in two places: at the Golden Gate and a model of the monument on St. Andrew's Descent 21, in Kiev (near the sculptor's house-museum ). I. Kavaleridze did not provide for the implementation of this monument in metal, and also presented it as a small figurine.
The monument was erected in 1997 (on the Day of Kiev ) and was made very quickly, without providing the authors with the proper time to think about the town-planning and artistic aspects. The monument is made of bronze and mounted on a granite pedestal. The pedestal itself rises on a specialized earthen embankment. On the right side of the monument there is a boulder on which the name of the prince is carved in Old Russian .
The sculptors for the realization of this monument according to the project of Ivan Kavaleridze (“Yaroslav the Wise with the model of Sophia of Kiev”, 1949) are Vitaliy Sivko , Nikolay Bilyk , Alexei Redko and Vladimir Chepelik , architects Ruslan Kukharenko and Yuri Lositsky .
Three prints were left on the back of the monument by sculptors V. Sivko, N. Bilyk and A. Redko.
