Nishke-Paz ("the god Nishke") is the highest god in Erzya mythology. Sometimes Nishka was mentioned as the son of the sun god and demiurge - Chi-Paz and the hypothetical mother goddess Ange Patay . According to mythology, Nishke-Paz created heaven and earth, launched into the ocean three gigantic fishes, on which he kept land, planted forests, created Erzyan and ordered men to take care of the land (engage in agriculture), and women take care of the house (do domestic work).
Nishke Paz - the head of the pantheon: he convened all the gods for a great feast under the apple tree.
Nishke was drafted in various conspiracies, begging him for the harvest, for the health of livestock and people.
The name (the early form - Ineshka ) is a composite of two words of Indo-Iranian origin: ine “great” (cf. dr.-ind. Iná “strong, powerful”) and Scarius (from * kšaya “ruler, lord”) [1] .
