Sports Biography
At the age of 20, Kavalyauskas made his debut as a member of the Lithuanian national team at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing . Aegidius performed in the weight category up to 64 kg. Already in the first round, the Lithuanian boxer had to meet with the Frenchman Alexis Vastin . Kavalyauskas in this fight suffered a crushing defeat at 2:13 and was eliminated from the tournament. After the end of the games, Kavalyauskas decided to change the weight category and switch to a heavier weight. At the 2011 World Cup, Egidijus took part in the category up to 69 kg and this brought him success. Lithuanian boxer won a bronze medal in Baku . This result allowed Kavalyauskas to obtain an Olympic license to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London . At the end of 2011, Kavalyauskas was recognized as the Boxer of the Year in Lithuania.
Professional career
On March 16, 2013 he made his debut in the professional ring, having won on points over American Eridanni Leon. [1] All three judges gave the victory to the Lithuanian with the same score - 40/36.
On February 16, 2018, in the 6th round, ex-world welterweight champion Russian David Avanesyan knocked out [2] [3] .
