Description

Small wasps nesting in the ground. Pronotum rounded or with transverse keel. The eyes below are a little close. Fore wings with 1 subdiskoid and 2 discoidal cells. Pterostigma is small, submarginal cell is larger than it. The antennae of the male are 13-segmented, the females are 12-segmented. The mandibular palps consist of 6 segments, and the lower labial ones consist of 4. They hunt homoptera ( Homoptera ), mainly from the family of aphids ( Aphididae ), and also possibly on cicadas Typhlocybidae [1] [2] [3] .

Systematics

Over 80 species. They are found everywhere (except Australia and South America), but most of the species are noted in the Palearctic . A third of the species are found in the Nearctic . In Kazakhstan, 23 species are known. [one]
