Curriculum Vitae
Ilya O. Fonyakov was born on October 17, 1935 in the city of Bodaibo, Bodaibo district, East Siberian Territory , now the Irkutsk Region , where his father Oleg Antoninovich Fonyakov (1899, Lugansk - 1938) worked at that time, Lenzoloto Trust , 31 December 1936, arrested and executed in the Chita camp on February 2, 1938 [2] . Mother - Natalia Nikolaevna Fonyakova (nee Kolokolova) (1912-2002), philologist.
After the arrest of her husband, her mother and little Ilya returned to Leningrad . After evacuation from besieged Leningrad, they lived in the village (now the city) of Makushino, Kurgan Region, from 1942 to 1945, then returned to Leningrad, where in 1952 Ilya graduated from the 222nd secondary school (formerly Petrishule ) and in 1957 - the journalism department Faculty of Philology of the Leningrad University [3] .
He worked as a literary associate in the newspaper Sovetskaya Sibir ( Novosibirsk , 1957–1962) and his own correspondent for the Literary Gazette in Siberia: in 1962–1974, in 1974–1997, he was his own correspondent in Leningrad . [four]
Start a creative journey
Ilya Fonyakov has been published since 1950 (the poem “For Peace” in the newspaper “Bolshevik word”, the city of Pushkin ). The first journal publication - 2 poems in the magazine "Star" (1955. № 9). The first book of poems "The Name of Love" was released by the Leningrad branch of the Soviet Writer publishing house in 1957 .
His early lyrics vividly reflect the youth moods of those years: here are the romance of student Komsomol construction projects, and the reckless desire to “peer into the vastness of the open land”, and the reasoning about the “essence of atomic war”, and the dream of “laughing people” building a bright future for the socialist country. These poems Fonyakova bribed - especially peers - with their sincerity.
Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR (after the collapse of the USSR - the Union of Writers of Russia ) since 1961.
Journalism
As a professional journalist, Ilya Fonyakov spoke in many literary genres: he owns collections of problem essays (“Talk of Trust”, 1975; “Fifty Letters from the Presidential Folder”, 1982), travel notes (“East of the East. Six months in Japan”, 1987; The Green Branch of Vietnam, 1989), literary portraits (Sergey Markov, 1983), notes on poetry (Say the Unspeakable, 1968; Praise of Accuracy, 1977) and various areas of culture.
The poet stated bitterly that in new historical circumstances civil society in Russia was morally degraded (“Talk about democracy”, “Towards a question of partisanship”), the former “precarious balance” between man and the state was broken. Lawlessness and poverty broke the people: “Everyone says. No one answers "(" In August ninety-first. Reporting in sonnets "). In art, the “unpredictable vulgarity” (“Antihero”) reigns. Poetry was in the pen - but in spite of everything it is still indestructible, “there is still a ballad and a sonnet”, and therefore there is hope - “remain the same as they were” and live “as the tree grows”.
Member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR (after the collapse of the USSR - the Union of Journalists of Russia ).
Poetic creativity
The fate of the lyrical hero Ilya Fonyakov is largely due to the awareness of the historical turn of the mid-fifties, which resulted in - after 40 years - the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the change of the social system in Russia.
It is not surprising that the poet’s later poems directly echo his youthful lyrics (“Memories of a student’s construction project”, “Nostalgia”), critically incorporating the life experience acquired by the poet. Asking in the 1990s a question - who is to blame for what happened to the country? - ironically: “Tyrant is cruel, ruthless Sistema, but the neighbors are good ...”, the poet impartially speaks about the people, seeing in him the very cause of all the troubles: “Or maybe stop crying about the people, / sympathize with him and sympathize? / Under any authority, under any weather / Everything from him is both evil and grace. "(" Or maybe that’s enough ... ").
Ilya Fonyakov actively acted as a translator (he translated poetry from English, Vietnamese, Latvian, Kyrgyz, Swedish, from the languages of the peoples of Siberia (Altai)). He published a series of monographic (by him alone) translated compilations ( Imants Ziedonis . Resin and amber. 1965; Omar Sultanov. In the winds of Issyk-Kul. 1973; Augustine Mannerheim. Memory of pain. 1999; Soren Sorensen. Days of doubt. 2001 and others. ).
Constantly improving the form and caring for the elaboration of the artistic fabric of his poems, Fonyakov showed an underlined interest in the sonnet (“Sonnets from the street and the yard”, “Sonnets of oncoming”, “Karabakh sonnets”, etc.) and palindromone (“Poems with palindromones” , "Parade of palindromones"). Outlining his poetic principles ("Letters on Poetry to a Friend in Irkutsk", 1984), he first of all gave "praise of accuracy."
The range of literary actions by Ilya Olegovich Fonyakov is quite wide, in particular, the anthology “Poets that Weren't Existing” (Russian poetic mystifications of the 20th century), St. Petersburg , 2000 (the second edition was published in 2005 ) deserve attention.
At the beginning of 2006, a presentation of this unique collection took place, in which the poets of St. Petersburg working in “this genre” performed, a third (more advanced) edition of this book was prepared.
In 1999, Ilya Fonyakov released a memorial collection dedicated to his father, Oleg Antoninovich Fonyakov, who died in 1938 and rehabilitated only on November 12, 1997. The book is composed of works of various genres: prose, poems and memoirs (O. Fonyakov, The night before ": Poems and prose. St. Petersburg., 1999) [5] .
Ilya O. Fonyakov died on December 23, 2011 in St. Petersburg . He was buried at Komarovsky cemetery (urn plot) [6] .
