Career
At the 1948 Olympic Games in St. Moritz , he won the silver medal in the relay, in which he ran the third stage, having left for his stage in 2nd place, he kept it and to the finish of his segment, in addition he was 6th in the race for 18 km I did not participate in the 50 km race.
At the 1938 World Cup, he took 48th place in the 18 km race.
He won the Finnish championships once, in 1944 in the 18 km race.
After completing his sports career, he worked as a ski racing coach, and from 1963 to 1968 he worked in the Finnish Ski Federation.
