Biography

Ivan Belyakov was born on August 30, 1926 in the village of Issyk (now the city of Esik ) of the Alma-Ata region of the Kazakh SSR in a peasant family.

Received incomplete secondary education.

In December 1943 he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army and sent to the active army. By April 1945, the guard of the Red Army soldier Ivan Belyakov was the gunner of the easel machine gun of the 37th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 12th Guards Rifle Division of the 61st Army of the 1st Byelorussian Front . Distinguished during the forcing of the Oder [1] .

On April 17, 1945, Belyakov was one of the first in his regiment who crossed the Oder near the village of Hohenwutzen north of the city of Britzen and personally destroyed several enemy firing points. When his machine gun failed, Belyakov continued firing at the enemy from a machine gun , and also destroyed his enemies with grenades . As part of his unit held a captured bridgehead during the day [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 31, 1945, the guard Red Army soldier Ivan Belyakov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .

After the war, Belyakov was demobilized. He lived in Almaty . From August 1948, Belyakov served in the internal affairs bodies . In 1951 he graduated from the school of operational workers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR in Almaty. In 1954, with the rank of senior lieutenant , he was dismissed. In 1956 he joined the VKP (b) [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 1st degree, as well as a number of medals [1] .
