Biography

Vasily Belyandra was born on January 5, 1914 in the village of Dosovka (now the Denisovsky district of the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan ) into a peasant family.

Since 1930, he lived in the village of Borolda of the Keminsky district of the Kyrgyz SSR . He received his primary education , after which he worked as a blacksmith and combine operator. In August 1941, he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since September of that year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Participated in the Battle of Stalingrad , was wounded. In 1943, Belyandra graduated from junior lieutenant courses, began to command a platoon of the 3rd motorized rifle battalion of the 23rd guards motorized rifle brigade of the 7th Guards Tank Corps of the 3rd Guards Tank Army of the Voronezh Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper [1] .

On the night of September 21-22, Belyandra, along with his massive enemy machine-gun , mortar and artillery fire, was the first in his unit to force the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Trakhtemirov, Kanevsky District, Kiev Region, Ukrainian SSR , captured it and secured itself on the bridgehead . The enemy launched a series of counterattacks. Only on September 28 and 29, the Belyandra platoon repelled seven attacks, destroying two Tiger tanks, three self-propelled guns, and about two enemy infantry companies [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 17, 1943, for the "exemplary performance of command missions on the front against the Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown" of the guard, the second lieutenant Vasily Belyandra was awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and Gold Star medal number 2138 [1] .

In 1944 he joined the CPSU (b) . In 1945, with the rank of lieutenant Belyandra, he was transferred to the reserve. He returned to the Kirov collective farm of the Boroldai village council of the Kyrgyz SSR, worked as a mechanic at the local machine and tractor station . He died on March 12, 1967 [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner , Alexander Nevsky , World War 1 degree, two orders of the Red Star , as well as a number of medals. Streets in the village of Bystrovka and the village of Borolda in Kyrgyzstan are named after Belyandra [1] .
