Career

At the 1948 Olympics in St. Moritz , he became the Olympic champion in the relay race and won the bronze medal in the 18 km race. The third stage ran in the relay race and starting it in the leading position, he finished it as a confident leader, winning exactly 5 minutes against the second-place Finns , at the last stage Martin Lundström further strengthened the advantage of the Swedish national team, and the Swedes won a gold medal. In the 18 km race, he lost almost 2 minutes to the second, his teammate Nils Estensson , and 37 seconds to the fourth, Finnish skier Heikki Hasu . I did not participate in the 50 km race.

At the 1952 Olympics in Oslo, he started only in the 50 km race, and took 12th place in it

At the 1950 World Championships in Lake Placid, he became the champion in the 50 km race in which he was almost a minute ahead of his second compatriot Enar Yosefsson .
