Nikolaeva, Natalya Viktorovna

Natalya Nikolaeva was born on July 1, 1986 in Rostov-on-Don . Natalia’s mother is a biologist and a real estate chemist. Father is a design engineer. Uncle, Oleg Melenevsky, was a leading actor of the Crimean Russian Drama Theater for 30 years. Grandmother of Natalia, Zoya Nikolaeva - hereditary Don Cossack.

From the age of eight, she began to go to the theater studio, was engaged in drawing, and performed at beauty contests. Natalia came to success almost immediately: at the age of 14 she won the contest “Prima Dona”, became the vice-miss of the contest “Best Fashion Model of the South of Russia”. At the age of 16, she won the Miss Pharma Cosmetics contest, becoming the “face” of a Slovenian-Italian cosmetic company. In 2002 and 2003, she worked in South Korea , where she combined photo shoots and shootings in commercials with preparation for final exams at school and admission to the university. From 2003 to 2006, Natalya Nikolaeva studied at the Faculty of Journalism of Rostov State University .

In 2005, being a student at RSU, Natalya won the Miss Universe Russia 2005 beauty contest and represented Russia at the Miss Universe contest in Thailand ^[2] . This was the first ever interactive beauty contest in history: Natalia was chosen by viewers via SMS voting ^[3] . But the Russian selection was completed only two weeks before the main stage and there was no time for proper preparation. In addition, the national director of the Russian stage did not accompany the participant and did not warn about some significant aspects of the upcoming show ^[4] . So, for the finale, Natalia did not even have an evening dress in which she had to represent her country. Rostov fashion designer Violetta Vaitiekunene sewed an evening gown for Natalya overnight, and the next day, her mother passed it on to tourists flying to Bangkok. In this dress, Natalia performed at the world broadcast of the Miss Universe contest. The national costume of Natalia was provided by the Rostov modeling agency Image. According to Natalia, despite all the difficulties, the opportunity to represent Russia at the most prestigious beauty contest became a great success and joy for her.

From the age of 13, she worked as a journalist, was the leader of her own headings - “Idols” and “Podium” in popular Rostov publications, wrote articles about youth problems, and answered readers' letters. Since 2005 Member of the Union of Journalists of Russia ^[5] . At 19, Natalia took part in the reality show " The Last Hero ", in which she spent 40 days in the African jungle next to the Zulus tribe on the Indian Ocean .

In 2006, she entered VGIK for the course of I. Yasulovich , which she graduated in 2010 with honors. She played several major roles in rating television projects ^[6] . In autumn 2013, on the First Channel ^[7] , the premiere of the serial film “ Vangelia ” took place, where Nikolaev performed the role of the blind Bulgarian seer Vanga in her youth. ^[8] The ensemble of performers of the role of Vanga ( Elena Yakovleva , Irina Rakhmanova , Natalya Nikolaeva) ^[9] caused a lot of positive reviews, and the series was very successful in several countries. About preparing for the role and about her heroine, Natalia says this:

... when I learned that I was approved for the role of a young Vanga, I first signed up for the library for the blind, began to study Braille, tried to read books for the blind. After all, this is exactly what my heroine studied at the House of the Blind. For me, the Vangelia from the very beginning was not some kind of mystical person, but the most ordinary person, from flesh and blood, who suffered a lot of suffering ... Despite the fact that she was exposed to knowledge from the “other” world, she was completely ordinary , earthly woman - she did household work, cooked, cleaned, grew flowers, raised her younger brothers and sister, even weaved, knitted and sewed ... It's just amazing! I tried to walk with my eyes closed and do something, and I can say that it is both scary and hard.

In October 2014, Natalya Nikolaeva was the host of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Ugra film festival ^[10] , whose president is film director Svetlana Druzhinina . During the film festival, Nikolaev also held several creative meetings in small towns of the Kaluga region, and also, together with Svetlana Druzhinina, Anatoly Mukasey and Nelly Pshenna, visited a women's maximum security colony ^[11] .

In November 2014, Natalia became the first ever representative of Sevastopol at the Mrs. World beauty pageant in the United States ^[12] . In the finale of the performance, Natalia came out under the Andreevsky flag, the symbol of the Russian Navy. According to the results of the contest, the girl entered the top five most beautiful women in the world ^[13] .

Natalia takes part in children's charity film festivals, holds creative meetings and workshops with children from orphanages.

In the summer of 2014, she was the host of the opening and closing ceremonies of the first Crimean film forum “Me and the Family” ^[14] , during which she visited a tent camp for refugees from the south-east of Ukraine near Sevastopol, where she shot several interviews and held a creative meeting.

At first, my listeners and Natalya Belokhvostikova were very constrained, as if they were still afraid of something, their eyes were sad. And I unexpectedly invited everyone to sing together. Probably, they were prompted by shots from films about the Great Patriotic War, in which artists performed in front of the soldiers at the front lines, in hospitals. She sang, "A young sailor is going on a visit," and the children and adults perked up and picked up. Song by song, and it became so warm, so cozy ... They didn’t want to let go, they thanked them, they said that it was such an evening that they lacked. And such words are the most expensive that an artist can get. For me, the vocation of an actor is to bring people light and joy. In all circumstances inspire hope and optimism ^[15]
