Biography
Born in Elisavetgrad (now Kropivnitsky ) in the family of a rural doctor Mark Samuilovich Belakovsky (1870-1938). Mother - Faina Moiseevna Belakovskaya (1879-1942) [1] .
In 1937, the family moved to Sestroretsk . In the late 1930s, he played football and Russian hockey in the teams of Sestroretsk and Leningrad, together with Vsevolod Bobrov , with whom he had been friends all his life [2] . In 1939 he entered the Military Medical Academy. Kirov , which he graduated in 1943 and was left adjunct . However, after his urgent appeals he was sent to the army and was assigned to the Airborne Forces . As part of the Airborne Forces as a senior regiment doctor, he participated in battles with the German fascist invaders on the Karelian and 3rd Ukrainian Fronts . In July 1944, he was wounded. He served as the senior doctor of the 302nd Guards Rifle Regiment, which was located in Poland , then in Hungary , where the regiment led heavy fighting near Lake Balaton . Belakovsky ended the war on May 12, 1945 in Czechoslovakia .
Until January 1946 he served in the Central Group of Forces in Czechoslovakia and Hungary, from there he was transferred to the Moscow Military District , and in May 1949 he was transferred to the Far East . In Primorye, Belakovsky served as deputy head of the medical department of the airborne corps, an experimental doctor in parachute jumping. From the beginning of the war he made 153 parachute jumps [1] [2] .
In 1951, after completing refresher courses at the military faculty of the Central Institute of Advanced Medical Studies, he was appointed doctor of the Air Force football and hockey team. Since 1954, he served in CSKA as a doctor of a football team, head of a medical and sports clinic, deputy head of CSKA in medical care.
Since 1955, he was directly involved in the work of providing medical support for leading athletes of the national teams of the country and CSKA in various sports for responsible competitions. Invited to work with the national teams of the USSR and Russia in football and hockey, was a doctor of the USSR national football team - the champion of the Olympic Games in Melbourne (1956) and hockey - the champion of the Winter Olympic Games in Sapporo (1972), in Innsbruck (1976), on other important competitions (world and European championships in football and ice hockey, first meetings with Canadian professionals in 1972 and 1974 ). As a doctor of the USSR national hockey team, he was repeatedly awarded gold, silver and bronze medals at the World and European Championships [3] .

He died on July 19, 2015 in Moscow. [4] Buried at the Troyekurovskoye Cemetery .
Contribution to sports medicine
Belakovsky is one of the authors of introducing into the practice of medical support for army athletes the brigade method of conducting medical examinations, an integrated approach to the recovery of sick and injured athletes. He proposed a number of methods for determining the functional state of athletes who are effective in the practice of sports teams of doctors.
The students of Belakovsky are currently managing the medical service of CSKA, they are the doctors of the Russian national teams in various sports [3] .
After retirement
Since 1987, after retiring due to age, he worked as a CSKA medical consultant in sports medicine, as well as in a military sports clinic [1] , hurried from his work to the next match to support his favorite team. He was elected Honorary President of the Sports Club of CSKA , spent a lot of social work to educate coaches, doctors, athletes and fans in the spirit of loyalty to Russian and army sports. Through personal example and through the media, he actively promoted a healthy lifestyle and the need for regular physical education and sports.
Awards
In 2005 he was awarded the international award "Profession - Life" in the nomination "The Great Healer". He was awarded seven orders ( "For merits to the Fatherland" IV degree, World War I degree - twice, Red Star - twice, Friendship of Peoples , "Badge of Honor" ) and 24 medals [3] .
In 2006, Oleg Markovich Belakovsky solemnly opened a bronze bust on the Avenue of CSKA sports glory as the most famous army sports doctor [5] .
Family
He was married to Nina Georgievna Belakovskaya (1926-2001). Son Mark Samuilovich Belakovsky (born 1947) - Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of the Institute of Biomedical Problems . Daughter Vera Samuilovna Markova (Belakovskaya) (born 1956) is a fencing coach [1] .
