Rampur [2] ( Hindi रामपुर ) is a city in the homonymous district of the state of India, Uttar Pradesh, located on the Kosi River . In 1971, 161.8 thousand inhabitants lived in it [3] , according to the 2001 census, 325,248 inhabitants lived there [4] , according to the 2011 census - 349,062 people. [1] The city has many Muslims [5] , Pashtuns [6] . The local music school raised a number of famous musicians [7] [8] . The local cuisine is part of the cuisine of the Mughal Empire , the usual recipes include "Rampur fish", "Adrak ka halva", "Rampuri kebab" and others [9] [10] [11] .
