Biography
Ivan Timkovsky was born on August 1, 1849 in the family of Lieutenant Colonel Platon Ivanovich Timkovsky. In 1866 he entered the Mikhailovsky Artillery School and graduated in 1869 . After graduating from college, he was promoted to second lieutenant and assigned to the 37th artillery brigade.
In 1870 he was promoted to lieutenant . From 1871 to 1872 he was retired.
In 1872, Ivan Platonovich Timkovsky was again appointed to serve in the same rank and position; In 1874 he was promoted to captains .
In 1876 , after graduating from the Mikhailovsky Artillery Academy on the 1st category, transferred to the Guard . In 1877 he was promoted to lieutenant of the guard. From 1877 he was at the disposal of the Main Artillery Directorate.
In 1878 he was promoted to the captains of the guard, in 1881 he was promoted to captain of the guard. From 1882 he was appointed the ruler of the affairs of the 4th Division of the Artillery Commission of the Main Artillery Directorate.
From 1885 , Ivan Platonovich Timkovsky was appointed a member of the Economic Committee of the St. Petersburg Local Arsenal . From 1886 he was appointed clerk of the Artillery Committee of the Main Artillery Directorate and at the same time was a teacher of the 2nd Military Konstantinovsky School .
In 1890 he was promoted to colonel . Since 1903 he was appointed permanent member of the Artillery Committee of the Main Artillery Directorate and made a major general .
On September 11, 1910, Ivan Platonovich Timkovsky was dismissed from his post as a lieutenant general .
