Biography

Born on August 17, 1945 in the city of Tashkent . In 1952, his family moved to Leningrad . Grigory's father - David G. Kleimits, taught at the Leningrad Conservatory. Grigory's mother, Sofya Ilyinichna, graduated from a music school in the violin class, but worked as an accountant all her life. Gregory’s sister - Eugene, graduated from a music school and institute, taught at a music school.

Grigory Kleimits graduated from music school, Rimsky-Korsakov School and the Conservatory with a degree in choir conductor . From the age of 13, he worked as a pianist in dancing in the city of Tosno ( Leningrad Region ), in the army he was the chief conductor of the Arkhangelsk military ensemble, and after serving remained for two years in Arkhangelsk , where he taught at the music school. Upon his return to Leningrad, he was invited by the famous singer Jean Tatlyan as a pianist and musical director of his ensemble. Their friendship with Tatlyan lasted a lifetime, despite the fact that in 1970 Kleimitz left to work in the VIA " Singing Guitars " - music director and pianist. In parallel, Gregory is studying at the conservatory. In "Singing Guitars" he met his future wife - Irina Ponarovskaya , the vocalist of the ensemble. Their marriage did not last long, but on the other hand, it influenced the fate of the now famous singer. Irina and Gregory created their own ensemble - “You and Me”, where the first hits of the singer were born - “I Love”, “Hurry”, “Blue Bird”, “Prayer”, “First Joys”, “Let It Come True” and others. After the ensemble “You and Me” and their marriage ceased to exist, the former spouses still worked together - Grigory was the musical director and arranger of the first rock opera Orpheus and Eurydice in the USSR, where Irina performed the part of Eurydice.

In 1976, G. Kleimitsa invited Edita Piekha to her group as music director and pianist. During this period, such hits were created as “Love Will Come to You”, “Ballad about Tana Savicheva”, “Old Piano”, “And Life Continues”, “Gorky” and many others.

In 1982, G. Kleimitz was invited to the Leningrad State Music Hall as chief conductor and music director, where he worked for eight years. Once, while working on an orchestration for the song “Finicky Horses” ( V. Vysotsky ), he had a first heart attack.

In 1991, Gregory invited him to work in the theater "Benefis" his thin. The head is Mikhail Boyarsky . This was by the way, as Kleimitz was banned from conducting the conductor due to health reasons (“waving hands,” as the doctors said).

Later, as a pianist, Kleimitz worked at VIP events, and also toured with artists. In 1996, after the release of the archive disc “30 Years Singing Guitars ”, G. Kleimitz, Grigory Baskin (People’s Artist, Director) and Anton Garnov (journalist and longtime fan of PG ) decided to revive the legendary VIA. Gregory restored many records, and also, like 25 years ago, became the music director and pianist of the ensemble. A big stage, interviews, television shoots and a huge number of young and already gray-haired fans returned to his life.

With the participation of Grigory Kleimits filming television programs: the cycle of programs "Grigory Kleimits" (host Irina Taimanova, Channel 51 (now MTV), "Nou Tuxedo" (host K. Nabutov ), "One evening" with D. Nagiev and S. Rost , “ Musical ring ”, “Lucky for people” and many others.

September 20, 1998 in the "Giant Hall" casino "Conti" was an evening in memory of the founder of the ensemble "Friendship" - Alexander Bronevitsky . According to the program, Kleimitz was to accompany Vitaly Korotaeva, the ex-lead singer of Friendship. They came out with the 17th number. Gregory, before sitting down at the piano, picked up the microphone and said: “Sanych, dear, I don’t know how many years ago, you didn’t take me to your ensemble, I decided to try again ...”. The hall greeted these words with applause. The first number Kleimits and Korotaev performed the song “Burn, burn, my star ...”, and the second - the song “Friendship”. In the words "and a long journey ..." Kleimitz fell under the piano and did not rise. The audience stood up with applause - everyone, including the television crew, decided that it was a pre-conceived joke. But the musician had an extensive heart attack (heart rupture).

G. Kleimitz was a great pianist, collaborated and made friends with a large number of musicians and artists, put a lot of creative effort into many of today's well-known performers (Irina Ponarovskaya, Philipp Kirkorov , etc.).
