The Norwegian wind quintet ( Norwegian Den Norske Blåsekvintett ) is a wind quintet from the Norwegian capital Oslo .

Founded in 1955 by musicians from the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra , the quintet was the first such ensemble in Norway. An important place in the ensemble's repertoire is occupied by the music of modern Norwegian composers: including Klaus Egge , Ragnar Danielsen , Sigurda Jansen , Fartein Valen , Aegil Hovland . Some of their works were specially written for this team. The ensemble toured in the Scandinavian countries, Germany, France, England, Poland and Canada. In 1977, the Norwegian wind quintet was awarded the Music Prize of the Association of Norwegian Critics . In 1981, the quintet received an award from the Norwegian Society of Composers in the category "Artist of the Year".
