Vladimir Dmitrievich Akhsharumov (1824-1911) - Russian poet and public figure.
Short Biography
The second of the five sons of the military historian, Major General D. I. Akhsharumov , brother of the writer N. D. Akhsharumov and Petrashevist D. D. Akhsharumov [1] .
He was brought up in the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum , which he graduated in 1844 (this was the first graduation after the Lyceum moved from Tsarskoye Selo to St. Petersburg and converted to the Alexander Lyceum ), at the same age as his classmate M. Saltykov , who sat with him in class one bench.
After graduating from the Lyceum, V. Akhsharumov joined the Asian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he served, his brother Dmitry , as well as future Petrashevists Nikolai Kashkin and Ippolit Debu .
In 1851, V. Akhsharumov visited the Caucasus , where he visited his exiled brother Dmitry.
He served in the Ministry of War. From 1866 to 1895 - the manager of the Poltava control chamber.
Creativity
The beginning of the poetic activity of Vl. Akhsharumov refers to 1859, when he submitted one of his first works to the editor J.P. Polonsky for publication in the Russian Word magazine. There he also met with L.N. Tolstoy , who, together with Polonsky, approved the thing brought by Akhsharumov. In the same year, Vl. Akhsharumov first appeared in print with several original and translated poems in the collection "Spring", which was published by his older brother, Nikolai Akhsharumov.
He published poems in the Library for Reading , Contemporary , Russian Word, Iskra and other editions of the 1850-1860s.
A review of his works in the magazine " Russian wealth " wrote that V. Akhsharumov made his debut
“... very happy, immediately attracting general attention. And then ... Then the name of Vladimir Akhsharumov completely disappeared from the pages of magazines without a trace ”

After a long break, he began to print poetry again in " World Illustration ", " North ", " Picturesque Review of the Countries of the World ".
Separately published in Poltava in 1908, his poetry collection "Poems." The most famous poem by V. D. Akhsharumov is “The Old Woman”, placed in “Spring. Literary collection for 1859. " Review of "Russian wealth" on the collection of "Poems" in 1908, which included the specified poem wrote
“When evaluating the poem“ The Old Woman ”, which developed the motive of serfdom and lawlessness of the ruling class, ... it should be remembered that in the late 50s, when the poem appeared in print, this motive was not yet completely“ legalized ”and, for example,“ Thoughts at the front door of “ Nekrasov could not yet be printed.”
