Saliy, Ivan Nikolaevich

Ivan Ivanovich Saliy (born November 2, 1943 ) is a Soviet and Ukrainian politician, MP of Ukraine I and III convocations, from 1992 to 1993 he was the representative of the President of Ukraine in Kiev - head of the Kiev city state administration [1] [2] .

Biography

He served as a sailor in the Baltic Fleet. He received an engineering education, worked in the food industry, as well as in various party positions. In 1983-1990 1st Secretary of the Podolsky District Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

In the period 1990-1992. was one of the most popular politicians in Ukraine and even nominated himself for the post of 1st secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine at the party congress in 1990, but lost to L. Kravchuk. On the crest of popularity, he was appointed to the post of head of the city administration of Kiev, but in the next, 1993, he was dismissed as a result of a scandal with a loan to Mercury, which was not returned.
