History

The village arose in 1845 as a soldier's settlement at the Khrenovsky stud farm , founded in 1776 .

In 1948, Sloboda received the status of an urban-type settlement.

In 1998, it again became a village.

A stud farm raising Orlov trotters and Arabian horses is the main enterprise in the village, employing more than 500 people [2] . Its buildings in 1960 declared a monument of history and architecture.
