Jekabs Redlikhs ( Latvian. Jēkabs Rēdlihs ; March 29, 1982 , Riga , USSR ) - Latvian hockey player , defender . The pupil of the Riga club " Prism ". Currently, he is Riga Dynamo , playing in the Continental Hockey League (KHL). Brothers Krishjanis Redlikhs and Mikelis Redlikhs .

Career
Jekabs Redlikhs began his professional career in 1999 as a member of the native Riga club Prism . The next club in Jekabs' career was Metalurgs from Liepaja , in which he played until 2001 . The following year, while in North America, in the NHL draft, Redlichs was selected in round 4 under the overall 119 number by the Columbus Blue Jackets club [1] , immediately after which he began to play for the Boston University hockey team.
Jekabs spent 4 years in student hockey, after which he signed his first professional contract with the Columbus farm club Syracuse Crunch [2] . Before the start of the next season, Redlichs was invited to the training camp of the "jackets", but then was again sent to the lower leagues. At the very end of the 2006/07 season, Jekabs decided to return to his homeland, concluding an agreement with the Riga 2000 club, but then again went to Columbus.
However, Redlichs also spent the first half of the 2007/08 season at Blue Jackets farm clubs [3] , after which he left the United States and signed a contract with the Czech club Lasselsberger Plzen . Jekabs has been a member of the Czech club for one and a half seasons, having scored 9 (4 + 5) points in 70 matches held during this time. On July 17, 2009, Redlichs returned to Riga, concluding a two-year agreement with Dynamo [4] .
For two seasons, Jekabs played 97 matches on the court in which he scored 10 (1 + 9) points, and in the summer of 2011 the club management decided to extend the agreement with the player for another year [5] . In the 2011/12 season , Redlichs scored 5 (3 + 2) points scored in 52 matches held, whereupon the agreement with the club was extended for another two years [6] .
International
As part of the Latvian national team, Jekabs Redlikhs took part in the European Junior Championship in the second division of 1999, the first division of the Junior World Championship in 2000, as well as the World Youth Championship in the second division of 2002. As part of the adult team, Jekabs played at the world championships 2008 , 2010 and 2011 . At these tournaments, Redlichs played 16 matches in which he scored 3 (1 + 2) points.

- Champion NCAA 2006.
- Winner of the Hope Cup 2013 as part of Dynamo Riga .
