Broadway Junction (New York Subway)

Broadway Junction ( born Broadway Junction ) - one of the transit hubs of the New York Metro , serving three of its lines: IND Fulton Street Line , BMT Canarsie Line and BMT Jamaica Line . The complex is combined, that is, it includes both overhead ( BMT Canarsie Line and BMT Jamaica Line ) stations and underground ( IND Fulton Street Line ). The complex also included an overpass station IND Fulton Street Line , which was closed in 1956 . The complex is located in Brooklyn , on the border of Bedford - Styvesant and East New York , at the intersection of Van Sinderen Avenue, Broadway and Fulton Street. Near the complex is the station East New York suburban railway LIRR , which has a transfer (paid, as LIRR - an independent organization). The complex is served by five subway routes:

  • A , J and L - work all the time
  • C - works all the time except late at night
  • Z - works only during peak hours in the peak direction.

Broadway Junction ( eng. Broadway Junction ) - Station of the New York Metro , part of the complex of the same name and located on the BMT Canarsie Line . The station is served by a single route - L , which operates around the clock.

The station consists of two tracks and two platforms. One platform is island, the other is side. The side platform is located on the southern route and is used by trains in the direction of the Canarsie area. The island platform, respectively, is served by trains in the direction of Manhattan, but in which case it can be used by trains in the opposite direction.

The elevated station is located quite high from the surface - this is one of the highest metro stations. The height is explained by the fact that the line passes above and so the BMT Jamaica Line Trestle Line . The northern end of the platforms is located below - the paths descend abruptly and literally after 200 meters enter the tunnel. In front of the tunnel there is a crossroads, which is not used for regular train traffic.

From the station you can clearly see the metrodepo located in close proximity You can also consider the airport. Kennedy , located 8 kilometers from the station, visible landing and takeoff aircraft. In 1999, the station was reconstructed, but not equipped with elevators.

Broadway Junction ( eng. Broadway Junction ) - station of the New York Metro , part of the complex of the same name and located on the IND Fulton Street Line . The station is served by two metro routes - A and C. Trains A work all the time, and C works only at non-specific times.

The station is represented by four ways and two island platforms. Internal routes use express trains A in the daytime, they are not used at night. Outer tracks are intended for local trains, served by routes A (late night only) and C (for the rest of the time). The station is trimmed in blue. On the walls are mosaics with the name of the station.

There is only one exit from the station - the same exit serves as a transfer to neighboring stations of the node. It is located on the east end of the platforms. The turnstile room is located on the mezzanine above the platforms. Previously, there was also a western exit, but it was closed, and the mezzanine was converted to a police station.

Until 2007, the station was called differently - Broadway - East New York , but it was decided to rename. On the walls of the station in the names of the tile was replaced. But the tile had a different type, so the station has become unique - in its decoration now both matte and glossy tiles of blue are present.

Broadway Junction ( eng. Broadway Junction ) - station of the New York subway , part of the complex of the same name and located on the BMT Jamaica Line . The station is represented by three ways and two island platforms. It is intended to stop all trains, both local and express trains, but due to the lack of express services on this line, it is served only by local trains J and Z. Route J runs all the time, and Z only works during peak hours in the peak direction. At both ends of the platforms, access roads to the East New York Yard metro depot are located.

The station was opened under a different name - Broadway - Eastern Parkway , as there was direct access from the platforms to Eastern Parkway . With the closure of this exit, the name of the station was changed to the current one. There is a mezzanine located above the platforms - from here you can get to the neighboring interchange hub stations, right there is the only exit to the city.
