Asian Biathlon Championship 2012

The Asian biathlon championship was held in South Korean Pyeongchang from January 28 to January 31, 2012. The national teams of Kazakhstan , China , Japan and the hosts from South Korea took part in the championship.

On January 28th, male and female sprints took place . In the men's 10 km sprint, the winner was the Kazakh athlete Alexander Chervyakov , who shot without a miss. The second finished Kazakhstani Nikolai Braichenko , who made one mistake. The best among women in the 7.5 km sprint was Kazakhstani Galina Okolzdaeva , she also made one mistake, her friend Anna Kistanova became fifth, having made five mistakes.

On the second day, January 29, men's and women's individual races for 20 and 15 km took place. In the individual 15 km race, Galina Okolzdaeva became the second, and Alexander Chervyakov won the second gold medal for himself at a distance of 20 km.

On January 31, on the last day of the competition, a mixed relay was held, in which the national team of Kazakhstan, consisting of Alexander Chervyakov , Nikolai Braichenko , Anna Kistanova and Galina Okolzdaeva, won silver medals. The Koreans were the first to finish, and the Japanese were third.
