- Consuls Quint Fulvius Nobilior and Titus Annius Lusk (two plebeians ).
- The Romans sent strong reinforcements to Spain . The new consuls are allowed to take office on January 1 (instead of March 15 ), which led to the beginning of the calendar year from January 1. Many cities subject to the Romans were deposited.
- Alexander I Valas (an impostor posing as the son of Antiochus IV Epiphanes and heir to the Seleucid throne) landed in Syria and easily occupied Ptolemaida . The king of Syria Demetrius I Soter began to gather troops and reconciled with the Jews . The king of Pergamon Attal II supported Alexander.
- Most of the city of Sikion in Greece is destroyed by an earthquake.
