The massacre in Gorajec - the massacre of Ukrainians - residents of the village of Goraec in Poland on April 6, 1945 , carried out by the Polish military. About 174 people were killed, including 32 women, 35 children and 19 people over 60 years of age. [1] .

Chronology of the tragedy
- On April 5, 1945, at 9:00 p.m., the Second Separate Operational Battalion of the Polish Internal Security Corps, together with the police, led by Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Shopinsky , left the barracks in Lubachev.
- At 4:50 the next day, the battalion, divided into four groups, took up combat positions. The village of Goraets, together with its villages, was cordoned off.
- At 5:00 the attack began. At first, the village was subjected to shelling, then it was attacked by infantry divisions.
- At 6:10 Goraec was busy. The troops were in the village until 10:00, while depriving the lives of civilians in the village. In particular, only in the territory of one of the farms about 60 people were shot. The buildings in Goraitsi were set on fire, and the inhabitants who were hiding there from torture were burned alive. The actions of the troops were accompanied by an action of the Polish civilian population [2] .
During the action, 174 people died, among them 32 women, 35 children and 19 people, whose age exceeded 60 years. The youngest of those killed was only 6 weeks old, the eldest was 80 years old from his birthday.
